2002 "Travels With Harry"
Harry Smith of CBS did a one-hour special on "A&E" featuring Don Coen and his paintings of the American West. Smith also introduced, for the first time, a sneak preview of Coen’s new "Migrant Series" which is scheduled to be completed in 2005. These paintings will total from 15-18 will be the first intimate look at migrant workers. Their role in American society today. Coen is the first American painter to make a comprehensive statement about this important and timely subject. He has been working on this project since 1992.

Coen was commissioned by the O’Byrne family to do 7 major canvases for their new Westin Hotel located between Denver and Boulder.

1983 "On the Lookout"; the Lamar Series was featured on Channel 7 in Denver, Colorado. The program traced the development of the Lamar series from the fields of Lamar to Don Coen’s studio in Boulder, Colorado. They also did a follow-up show in 1984.

1978 Solar Day, one of 10 Colorado artists selected by the Solar Institute to have work considered as a gift to President Carter on "Solar Day".

1970 Artist in Residence Grant (One of 6 U.S. artists selected by National Endowment for the Arts, Washington, D.C. $10,000 Grant). Coen was one of the artists selected for the film "See Touch Feel" made by the Endowment and directed by Donald Wrye, 1970.
